Beat the heat with these energy rebates
Saving energy isn’t just good for the earth—it’s good for your wallet.
Looking for ways to make your home greener this summer? You might be eligible for rebates on products and services that help your home beat the heat more efficiently.
Before you make your next energy-efficient purchase, review the rebates your energy provider offers.
Here’s a look at some of the summer-friendly rebates Alliant Energy provides to its customers:
Learning thermostat
Learning thermostats help you manage your cooling (and heating) efficiency by communicating with your cell phone. The devices learn from your usage and adjust the temperature in your home based on your needs and habits.
Alliant offers a $75 rebate toward the purchase of a learning thermostat.
Cooling tuneup
When you have your air conditioner regularly cleaned and serviced, it helps the equipment run more efficiently and last longer—ultimately saving you money on your utility bills and replacement costs.
Alliant offers its eligible customers a rebate of up to $50 to have this home maintenance task completed.
Central air conditioner
If you must replace your central air conditioner, find out whether the purchase qualifies for a rebate. Alliant customers can receive up to $650 when upgrading a central air conditioner.

Appliance recycling
That old refrigerator you turned into a beer or soda fridge in the garage could be adding a potential $115 to your annual energy bill.
Alliant offers its customers $50 for old, working refrigerators or freezers and $25 for old, working room air conditioners. The appliances get picked up from your home.
Energy assessment
A home energy assessment shows where your energy dollars are going and offers suggestions on how you can save energy and money.
Alliant offers a free basic assessment and a comprehensive assessment for $100 (the money is refundable after two qualifying projects).
