Frequently Asked Questions
-
What should I do if my Dupaco Visa credit card is lost or stolen?
Turn your card off right away using your Card Security controls in Shine Online and Mobile Banking. If you think someone is using your card without your permission, please call us immediately at 800-373-7600, ext. 201 so we can help protect your account.
-
Where are Dupaco’s Visa credit cards accepted?
Visa credit cards are widely accepted at most retailers, restaurants, airlines and hotels—in the United States and around the world.
-
Can I get a cash advance with my Dupaco Visa credit card?
Yes. You can get a cash advance where Visa is accepted for cash services. The fee for advances is $10.00 or 3.00% of the amount of each cash advance, whichever is greater, and finance charges apply. Cash advances show up on your monthly statement along with your purchases.
If you want to get cash at an ATM, look for ATMs that display the Visa network symbol. You’ll need a Personal Identification Number (PIN). To set one up, call 888-891-2435 from the phone number you have on file at Dupaco and follow the prompts. (If there are two cardholders with the same card number, each person will need to call separately to set up their own PIN).
-
How do I transfer a balance to a Dupaco Visa credit card?
You could move balances from higher-rate credit cards to your Dupaco Visa and potentially save on finance charges—with no balance transfer fees. Just give us a call at 800-373-7600, ext. 201, or get started in Shine. Heads up: Balance transfers don’t earn rewards points.
-
Can my Dupaco Platinum Visa credit card be used for overdraft protection?
No. Visa credit card accounts can’t be linked for overdraft protection. Our standard share account overdraft sequence and Overdraft Privilege* still apply. Please check your membership materials or contact us to learn more.
*The Overdraft Privilege service fee is $30 per overdraft, with a maximum of one fee per day. An overdraft fee may be imposed for covering overdrafts made by various transactions—such as ATM withdrawals, everyday card transactions, checks, ACH automatic bill payments, recurring debit card payments, and any other transactions using your checking account number. These overdrafts will be covered automatically, and you will need to repay the fees within 30 days of the account going negative. If your account is overdrawn for longer than 45 days, it will be closed. However, please note that the decision to pay the overdrafts is at our discretion, and we may choose not to pay if your account is not in good standing, you are not making regular deposits, or if you have too many overdrafts.
-
My credit score isn’t great. Can I still qualify for a Dupaco Visa credit card?
We look at your full financial picture—not just your credit score—when reviewing applications. You might start with a lower credit limit, which could increase over time as your credit score improves.
You could also consider a share-secured credit card, where the amount of your credit limit is held in your savings as collateral. It gives you the benefit of the credit card and could help you build credit with responsible use.
Still unsure? Our Consumer Lending team is happy to help when you call 800-373-7600, ext. 305 or email loans@dupaco.com.
