Forbes Ranks Dupaco as a Top Credit Union in America

DUBUQUE, Iowa— National U.S. business magazine Forbes again named Dupaco Community Credit Union one of the top-rated credit unions in America in its ranking of in-state financial institutions, which is based on consumer sentiment. This was the fifth time Forbes recognized Dupaco.

Forbes recognized six credit unions in Iowa, with Dupaco ranking third in the state.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey nearly 26,000 U.S. consumers about their opinions on current and former financial relationships. Banks and credit unions were rated on overall recommendations and satisfaction.

According to the publication, “participants were asked to name all the banks and credit unions where they currently have—and previously had—a checking or savings account, and to identify financial institutions they know through the experiences of friends and family. Respondents were asked to share their level of satisfaction with the bank or credit union, their willingness to recommend it to others, and to rate the organization based on criteria including: customer service, the quality of financial advice offered by representatives, fee structures, ease of navigating digital and in-person services, and the degree of trust the financial institutions inspired. Survey responses from the last three years were taken into consideration, with more recent data and responses from current customers weighted more heavily in our analysis than the older data and responses from former customers and friends and family.”

Online reviews and ratings posted on Google Reviews between February 2021 and March 2024 were also evaluated for each bank and credit union. These reviews and ratings accounted for 20% of the scoring, while the surveys accounted for 80%, according to Forbes.

Forbes recognized 207 credit unions across the United States in its June 18th report. Only institutions receiving the highest ratings were awarded the title “Best-In-State,” according to Forbes.

Nationwide financial institutions with branches in at least 15 U.S. states were excluded from the final rankings, Forbes said.
