Forbes ranks Dupaco as a top credit union in America

DUBUQUE, Iowa—National U.S. business magazine Forbes again named Dupaco Community Credit Union one of the top-rated credit unions in America in its ranking of in-state financial institutions, which is based on consumer sentiment. It was the fourth time Forbes recognized Dupaco.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey nearly 31,000 U.S. consumers about their opinions on current and former financial relationships. Banks and credit unions were rated on overall recommendations and satisfaction.

“Participants were asked to name all the banks and credit unions where they have a checking or savings account and evaluate these institutions based on criteria such as customer or member service, the quality of the financial advice representatives offer, whether fees are transparent and reasonable, ease of navigating the company website, on-location branch services and the overall level of trust the companies inspired,” according to Forbes.

Online reviews and ratings posted on Google Reviews between March 2020 and April 2023 were also evaluated for each bank and credit union. These reviews and ratings accounted for 20% of the scoring, while the surveys accounted for 80%, according to Forbes.

“This recognition simply reaffirms our staff consistently delivers on the Dupaco brand promise to help members build lives worth loving and to create brighter community for all,” said Dupaco President and CEO Joe Hearn.

Forbes recognized 147 credit unions across the United States, including five in Iowa, in its June 20 report. Only institutions receiving the highest ratings were awarded the title “Best-In-State,” according to Forbes.

Nationwide financial institutions with branches in at least 15 U.S. states were excluded from the final rankings, Forbes said.
