Unexpected hardship? We're here to help.

The Dupaco Foundation Hardship Grant is a one-time financial contribution of up to $5,000 for those experiencing an unexpected hardship including, but not limited to, events like a medical crisis, disaster (e.g., flood, fire) or death of a family member.

 
Details & eligibility
Want to apply? Here are the guidelines:
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must apply on behalf of yourself.
  • You must be experiencing, or have experienced within the prior six months of applying, a financial hardship directly arising from an unexpected event or emergency (a natural disaster, medical crises, or death of family). In certain circumstances, the board may consider other personal hardship or tragedy.
  • You must establish financial need arising from the unexpected event or emergency by providing receipts or other records/verification to confirm the amount of the financial need.
  • You must reside in one of the Foundation’s geographic focus areas:
    • Iowa: Any county
    • Illinois: Carroll, Jo Daviess, Rock Island, Stephenson, Whiteside
    • Wisconsin: Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Lafayette, Richland, Rock, Walworth, Waukesha
  • The Foundation’s officers, directors, and committee members and their family members are not eligible to receive a grant.

Applications must be submitted online. Submissions via mail or in person at a branch will not be accepted. A limited number of grants are available and awarded based on available funds and eligibility criteria. Applications are reviewed every two weeks. If approved, please expect up to 30–45 days for the grant to be issued.

Gather copies of the following:
  • Receipts or other records/verification to confirm the amount of the financial need. Documentation needs to show the expenses incurred as a direct result of the hardship.

Hint: Make sure you have digital copies of your receipts and records to submit as part of your online application.
