Dupaco is partnering with Denise Burmeister from Credit Union Student Choice to help parents and their high school children prepare for college.
The free Student Financial Aid seminar is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at NewBo City Market, 1100 Third St. SE, Cedar Rapids.
“As a financial cooperative, it’s our mission to improve each member’s financial position,” said Dupaco President and CEO Joe Hearn. “College is a large investment for students and their families, and we want to do our best to educate them throughout this journey to help them stay on the right financial path.”
Attendees will learn tips on how to prepare and pay for college, including:
- When to start planning for college
- What to do each year leading up to college
- How to choose a school
- How to understand the cost of a college degree
- How to receive free money toward college
- How to cover the remaining cost
Following the seminar, participants will have an opportunity to talk one-on-one with Burmeister and Dupaco lenders.
