Qualifying event may qualify you for insurance

Under the Affordable Care Act, everyone is required to have health insurance beginning in 2014.

Consumers can no longer be turned down for coverage because of a preexisting condition. And many lower- and middle-income households will qualify for help to pay their premiums.

However, the deadline for open enrollment for the Marketplace health insurance was March 31, and the next open enrollment period doesn't begin until November 15.

The birth of a child, change in marital status or loss of a job are examples of some of the "qualifying events" that may allow you to buy Marketplace insurance prior to November 15.

Having the right health insurance can be the difference between financial well-being and financial disaster. That's why Dupaco has partnered with CoOportunity Health to help members navigate insurance options.

The partnership gives you access to CoOportunity Health experts who can help you determine whether an event in your life qualifies you for new coverage or changes in coverage, and find a health insurance plan that makes sense for you. Businesses that need to explore coverage options can lean on Dupaco Insurance Services.

To learn more about qualifying life events, call the CoOportunity Health toll-free hotline at 855-274-2383, or complete the inquiry form and a CoOportunity Health expert will contact you within 24 hours.
