| Details: | Dupaco and Mediacom have partnered with the Millwork District's "Gettin' Down in the District" block party screening event on Thursday, August 9, to applaud the efforts of four Shift Into Thrift video contest participants.
During the block party event, finalists of Dupaco and Mediacom's Shift Into Thrift video contest will be shown, with winners being announced and awarded at the event.
The block party event, which will be held at the intersection of 10th and Jackson Streets in Dubuque, will last from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The Shift Into Thrift winners presentation is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a screening of the award-winning RAGBRAI documentary A Million Spokes with special guest, producer Susan Gorrell.
The Shift Into Thrift video contest challenged the public to create a 30-second video sharing tips on saving more and spending less. Contest entries were accepted online through July 31, 2012. The contest was intended to inspire thrift through peer-to-peer sharing of ideas for financial success. Professional shooting and editing of entries was not required.
