Fraudulent attempts to gain credit, debit and account numbers reported
Posted:March 28, 2012
Details: Dupaco members have reported receiving internet solicitations, sometimes presented as pop-up windows, asking for personal financial information. These are attempts to lure you into divulging account information and may be fraudulent. The information requested may include credit or debit card numbers, or account numbers. While these solicitations are not generated by Dupaco, the pop up messages may appear while you are on Dupaco’s website, www.dupaco.com, or while logged in to Shine Online Banking, https://shine.dupaco.com.

These pop-up windows are generally caused by a malware (malicious software) infection on your computer, and for your protection should be addressed immediately by someone familiar with removing computer viruses.

Rest assured, your accounts remain safe and secure at Dupaco. The information presented here is being shared with you to ensure you don’t fall victim to a scam or attempt at fraud on your account.

As a reminder, Dupaco never asks you to supply personal financial information, including your credit or debit card numbers. Your best bet for protection against scams and fraud attempts made through internet, e-mail or phone is to never divulge your personal financial information. You should also make sure your computer is armed with the most up-to-date antivirus and malware  protection.
