| “Safety Rules!” Bike Rodeo set for May 15 |

| Details: | Area children are encouraged to bring their bicycles and participate in the 13th Annual “Safety Rules!” Bike Rodeo at Flora Park (Pennsylvania Ave. Entrance) from 9 am to noon on Saturday, May 15.
An obstacle course with a series of safety stations will be set up for children to ride. The first station involves a thorough safety inspection of the bicycle. The remaining stations will focus on riding technique and skill.Children will be asked to ride through established courses of figure eights, circles, and parallel lines with an emphasis on controlling a bicycle through tight turns, using hand signals, and obeying traffic signs. Complete the safety course for a chance to win one of over $1,000 in prizes, such as a new bike from The Bike Shack or a bike helmet!
In addition to Bike Rodeo Safety Stations, there will be a live radio remote with 97.3 The Rock; bicycle registration with the City of Dubuque; and an opportunity to meet Finley’s Caring Bear, Dupaco’s Dollar, and the Dubuque Bicycle Police.
The Bike Rodeo is intended to promote safe bicycle riding habits and reduce accidents involving children. There is no charge to participate.
