IRAs
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are an investing tool used by individuals to earn and earmark funds for retirement savings or other qualified events. There are two types of IRAs for individual investors: Traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs.
Traditional and Roth IRAs are established by individual taxpayers, who are allowed to contribute earned income up to a set maximum dollar amount. Contributions to the Traditional IRA may be tax deductible depending on the taxpayer's income, tax filing status and coverage by an employer-sponsored retirement plan. Roth IRA contributions are not tax-deductible.
You don't need a lot of money to open an IRA. Either type of IRA can be opened with as little as $5 and provides a simple way for members to save towards their retirement. What's more, you can set up automatic transfers to make saving easy and painless!
