When I think of a credit union I think of a cooperative. I think of people gathering and forming a community. Reading through your website one would get the feeling that Dupaco cares for its members and communities in which it serves. I would hope that this long standing tradition of being made by members for members holds true. Please use this rule when in your business dealings. Please do not outsource our jobs outside of our communities especially when it will cost more to do so. For years the goal of businesses was to hopefully cut the middle man out not bring one in with high overhead and promises that cannot be delivered. Please keep the work you give local and to members as much as possible. Use this as the measuring stick when making decisions. Remember the little guys that built Dupaco into one of the largest credit unions in the region. I am a Dupaco member and I am losing faith that the little guy stands a chance. Please do not allow big business to crush the little guys that do so much extra for so little.

You make excellent points and we agree with your viewpoint. Credit union decisions are made based on the interests of the membership and the communities in which we serve. For decades our business team has served the needs of small businesses, and we continue to evolve and grow our service offerings. If at any time you wish to voice concerns or discuss further, our staff, including the board or management team, is available and welcome your input. Thank you for your membership!

Sponsoring a rodeo

Dear Dupaco Board of Directors, When you sponsor a rodeo, you are sponsoring animal abuse. Abuse that happens just for entertainment and money. And when you involve children, you are teaching them to see animals as objects to be used and abused. I think it's deplorable. If you have empathy, please put yourself in the place of these helpless animals and see what is being done to them. It is unnecessary suffering and death. http://www.sharkonline.org/index.php/voices-against-rodeo/1363-rodeos-kill-animals-let-s-stop-pretending-they-don-t-2 Please have the courage to actually look at this. We need to evolve past this type of behavior. Please do not participate in supporting rodeos in the future. Thank you. Sincerely, Lynn Gallagher

Lynn, thank you for sharing this information and your view. Our marketing committee will consider this when we meet to discuss future event sponsorship opportunities, including bull riding or other rodeo-style events.
